Summary: This section will contain various business notes gathered over the years. Hopefully someone reading these notes who knows nothing about starting their own business, will begin to understand just what business is all about. We have broken a lot of phrases down into their simplest terms so that all will be able to understand what is being said. A lot of African Americans have business smarts but just don't understand the word play or tactics being used by corporate America. Our aim is to educate those people as well as get them excited about starting their own business adventure. Some words will be in "parenthesis." These words are words that you will hear in business circles. So our advice to you is to memorize these words. They just might come in handy when your having a conversation with a bank lender or when your pitching a idea to a potential business partner. keep in mind that these are just notes, nothing more. No one is trying to replace the great learning experience of going to college and learning all it has to offer when it comes to business. What makes college even greater is the people you will meet along the way. After all your dorm buddy just might turn out to be the next C.E.O of a multi-billion dollar corporation. Im sure you've heard the saying, "It's not what you know, but who you know." |
